Celebrating rural women and improving health, safety and wellbeing

“Rural women have been planting seeds in the minds of men for generations.

Because let’s face it: ‘she’ll be right’ doesn’t always mean it will be right. He might have been ‘doing it this way for years’ – but that doesn’t mean it can’t be improved, now does it!

Their tough-as-nails mentality towards their physical, mental and emotional health and safety doesn’t just affect one person – it affects everyone.

Sound familiar? Hands up who knows someone who could be making smarter, safer and healthier choices!

I hear you sister. And I know, because I’ve been there.

The flow on effect of drought, Q fever, Ross River virus, diabetes, heart failure and kidney failure has had a profound impact not only on my Dad’s health, but on my family and our livelihood. I’ve felt the weight of responsibility for Dad’s wellbeing since I was 15 years old.

That’s why I created The #PlantASeedForSafety Project. It’s about celebrating rural women and amplifying industry-driven, practical solutions that inspire rural men to save a life, by listening to their wife.

Silence and safety paperwork doesn’t save lives, but rural women who are prepared to #PlantASeedForSafety – do.

So let’s get started!”
