Eden Valley Pub
Thirsty Thursday, but with a (safety) twist…

Thanks to Cass + the team at the Eden Valley Pub, this story-telling extravaganza saw local legends Peter Fulton + Jason Sabeeney share words of health + safety wisdom with an audience of 25+. Enshrined by the hanging of a (bloody big!) #PlantASeedForSafety Shovel, pub-goers were inspired to slow down, speak up and take care… a potent, pub-based reminder of the importance of health, safety + wellbeing, and the need to take the #PlantASeedForSafety power to the PEOPLE.

#PlantASeedForSafety is an initiative that’s designed to break down the stigma of talking about mental health and rural safety. It’s not just the usual OHS ‘stuff’ – it’s an initiator of speaking to your mates, wife, family and/or friends without feeling like it’s a burden or a bore. It’s a way of starting conversations comfortably, which may lead to getting a helping hand without feeling like you are encroaching on other people’s time. Sometimes the hardest thing is to ask or accept help, and this needs to be hidden less and normalised more in rural communities.
